As a former writer and editor, I used words to tell my story. As an artist, I tell my story using light and shadow, colour and shapes. Watercolour is my medium of choice because it is a pro-active medium. The paint, when mixed with water and applied to watercolour paper, takes on a life of its own. Although I often guide and manipulate the paint, I also let it work its own magic on the paper. I hope you see a little of that magic in my paintings, that they reflect my love of landscape, both familiar and exotic, as well as the beauty revealed in everyday objects. Please look and enjoy.
All summer and into fall (from June 17 to October 31) I will be exhibiting a number of paintings in two different Georgian Bay locations: the gift shop at the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts in Collingwood; and in the Gallery at Wendys, in La Fontaine. Both galleries offer a variety of fine art and gift items and are located in charming towns on the east (Collingwood) and west (La Fontaine) sides of Nottawasaga Bay – a beautiful sub-bay of Georgian Bay – and are well worth exploring this summer.
And coming soon: an additional several paintings available to view on my web site and purchase.
